[…] Zatanna’s wish fulfillment spell found Durance channeling her inner Chloe in Hex.

“When I read that script I was really excited, but also wanted to be careful because the character of Chloe is so beloved by the fans,” recalls Durance. “You don’t realize what you’ve gleaned from working with someone, so just having been on the show with Allison (Mack) for quite a few years gave me a chance to pick up on things. It just started to come to me as I was working on it, and it was collaborative. The writers and the director talked about it with me, so it became a huge effort. You just have to let go and have a lot of fun with it. Allison hung out sometimes and gave me ideas about things. It wasn’t so much the physical aspects, because, ironically, you’re never aware of how you really move. I would finish doing a scene and everyone would go ‘Oh, that’s so Allison! That’s so Chloe!’ And she’d be like ‘I do that?’It was more of talking about where her character was coming from that helped.”
